I am very pleased with my item. The cost is very effective to our household. Especially, not spending so much on paper coffee filters.
The filter empties fine into the trash - you may have to tap it against the side of your trashcan a bit - again not a problem for me. It works great with my Gevalia coffeemaker that uses #4 cone paper filters. I bought this filter a couple weeks ago & love it. And it rinses out perfectly under running water. As another reviewer mentioned, if you use fine coffee grounds, there will be just a little residue in the bottom of the coffeepot or cup. Not a problem for me. So glad we won't have to buy paper filters anymore - helping the environment just a little bit. :)
It doesn't trap the oils from the bean that enhances taste and texture. It is only a #4 so I end up not utilizing all my cones capacity. The reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because I bought it to use with my #6 coffee cone. Now drip coffee tastes more like it came from a french press. It also works perfectly in my GE coffee maker. Coffee tastes betting than paper filter. I would buy another one in a heart beat if I could find a #6. If you want to make the switch to a permanent filter, this is the one for you.
A great way to be frugal and green. We no longer purchase filters. Excellent replacement.
